Dancing In The Studio

My Confession: I sing and dance in the studio while I'm doing a show. Why not? It's the music I love...

Misconception

A big misconception. Just because you write poetry, does not give you the right to call yourself a poet. Very similar to a writer. Just because you write, does not give you the right to call yourself a writer. So often I encounter these people. It's frustrating to listen to people constantly tell me about themselves. When a person asks me if I'm a writer, I tell them that I enjoy writing. Very simple. Very easy. Just a quick vent.

I've been enjoying my latest sessions inside the "ice box." I had my first technically flawless show this past week. It made me very, very excited. And thanks to all who tune it. It really means a great deal to me.

Creating!

There is a spurt of creativity brewing in my mind. What happens next? Normally, I fall off the face of the earth and sit quietly in my bedroom typing away at a computer that hasn't seen the internet in 4 years. There is excitement at the possibilities, then the work. What has always stopped me was the fact that I wanted to be done immediately. What keeps me going is the sheer joy of creating. Will it see the light of day? I cannot answer that at this time, but I promise myself that it will be stored away somewhere safe. Got to go, the bedroom is calling! Enjoy next weeks show!

Gone Campin'

Campin', campin', campin'! There's nothing like it. Give me a choice between sitting on a beach in the Bahamas or camping in Colorado, and I'll choose Colorado any day. (Although, that's not where I'm going camping this weekend.)

To all, have a safe 4th of July weekend. Remember, if you're going to drink, do so responsibly. Get a designated driver or just stay over as a guest!

Thanks to all who tuned in to this past Wednesday's show. I had a great time playing some stuff that I've recently (within the past year) been turned on to. David Ford is a fantastic musician. In concert, he uses MiDi loops to create his sound. If you get a chance, YouTube his name. I promise, the first time you see it, you'll be awed. He's a great musician and lyricist.

I just bought five new album today, so I'm looking forward to working them into my show(s) in the coming weeks. STAY TUNED!
